Podcasts I Love - The Upside with Callie & Jeff
I've recently joined the world of podcast listeners. I've got about five that I currently listen to on the reg. I started out listening to a podcast on serial killers, then went off to find podcasts for professional women. In the last few months, my favorite morning radio host was let go from a local station. It was total bonk, and the way it went down was shite. I quit listening to the station that same day. I missed my radio friend. So how pumped was I when I found out he and his wife were starting a podcast? Look at these faces! Aren't they like the cutest people ever!?!?!

I have been listening to Jeff on Atlanta radio for the last 15 years. On his first show I had to quit listening because the format had changed and was no longer an influence I needed in my life. But that wasn't because of Jeff, and you could tell he wasn't super in to where the show was going. Then about five years later, some AWESOME news broke! Jeff was getting his on show on a rival station with one of his old host friends from the previous station. I was so excited. His brand of humor and his world view are so similar to mine that I was excited to see where this was headed. I LOVED THE SHOW. But just me loving it wasn't enough to keep it going. Jeff got canned due to poor ratings, which I totally don't think was his fault. That station's hay day was about 20 years ago, and it waited too long to try and update. He took his dismissal with grace while others at the station did not.
So fast forward a few months and he and his wife Callie launched The Upside. Their podcast is all about their journey in gratitude and finding the positives in every experience. I can honestly say that in the last few weeks of listening to them regularly, my outlook on many things has changed. I've even found myself helping my kids find gratitude and positives. That says a lot because as a Six, I have a really hard time finding positives especially for myself.
Not all episodes have a message, some are just them talking about what's been going on in their lives and I love it. It's like getting to have a phone call with a friend everyday and keeping touch. (I don't actually do that, I'm not a psychopath, I text my friends). But they have little segments like Beautiful Human Alert, Doggo Heros, Petty Crime Junky, Dramatic Recipe Readings, and Callie reviews an item each week that has been "Facebook Stalking" her. It's really great! So if you're looking for a new podcast that is light and for the most part, kid friendly, check out The Upside you can listen where ever you listen to podcasts or follow the links here to their website!
